Today, December 2, 2024, marks the 8th day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign running from November 25 to December 10. This initiative calls for collective action to end violence against women and girls, aligning with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and concluding on Human Rights Day.
At OSDA, we are committed to advancing gender equality and fostering safe communities across Northern Kenya. In this campaign, we reiterate our dedication to creating meaningful change through targeted programs and advocacy.

OSDA’s Commitments During the Campaign
1️⃣ Community Awareness Campaigns
OSDA is devoted to raising awareness about the impacts of gender-based violence (GBV) through educational initiatives in rural and urban communities. These efforts focus on fostering a zero-tolerance culture for violence against women and girls.
2️⃣ Empowering Survivors
We aim to enhance access to psychosocial support and legal aid for GBV survivors. Partnering with local organizations, OSDA plans to expand survivor support networks.
3️⃣ Promoting Women’s Leadership
Gender equality thrives when women lead. OSDA champions the inclusion of women in decision-making processes, ensuring they have a voice in governance, peacebuilding, and development.
4️⃣ Addressing Root Causes
Tackling GBV at its roots, OSDA advocates for policies that address poverty, inequality, and harmful societal norms that perpetuate violence.
Join Us in the Fight Against GBV
Ending gender-based violence requires a united effort. OSDA is working closely with local leaders, community organizations, and international partners to amplify the message of this year’s campaign and drive sustainable change.
